A savoury Turkish delight

Carpets, Kilims, tea, coffee, gold, baklava and Turkish delight. Ah those souvenirs are a sweet reminder of the numerous things you discovered in Turkey, a popular country visited by many tourists across the world.

From the amazing visit to the Haga Sophia to the numerous pides you ate late at night. The best you ever had...

Pide is a flat bread baked with toppings,  eaten plain or garnished with fillings or toppings such as vegetables or meat.

This season we have come up with a recipe that perfectly reflects the fact that Turkey is a country that occupies a unique geographic position, lying partly in Asia and partly in Europe. Get ready for Turkish bread with homemade ketchup, processed cheese, ham, and aubergine or Turkish bread with goat cheese and roasted vegetables grilled on the BBQ. Niamh!

India inspires

Moving on to India; you either love it or hate it, they say... It's a country of contrasts with a very diversified geographical, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, political, economic and religious panorama. But even without ever visiting the country, we have grown to love its delicious food so much. From fancy Chicken Tikka Masala to the street food stalls at the summer festivals.

Naan bread is a well-known Indian side dish and a perfect fit for a curry but its soft and chewy structure makes it an interesting base for any trendy flatbread inspired recipe. It easily matches with those typical Indian flavors like chickpeas but blends also with the European flavors we all love.

It's hard deciding between the naan bread with sweet potato spread, trout, avocado, hazelnuts, peas, and garden cress or the naan bread with roast beef, herb dressing, courgette, kohlrabi, oranges, and parmesan.

Or maybe you can make both? But that's naan of our business...
